Il volume, a cura di Alessandro Fambrini e Walter Catalano, raccoglie venti tra i racconti più rappresentativi di quella che è stata una delle prime riviste di letteratura fantastica, tra il 1918 e il 1921, e il precursore di Weird Tales.

Un importante recupero di un pezzo della storia del weird mondiale, che permetterà al lettore moderno di leggere le opere di autori come Karl Hans Strobl, Alfred Freiherr von Czibulka e De Nora, e di ammirare le copertine e illustrazioni a colori di artisti come Carl Rabus, Otto Muck, Elfriede Plaichinger-Coltelli e il grande Alfred Kubin.
