Il volume, di 536 pagine, raccoglie ventinove racconti di autrici che spaziano dal genere horror al fantasy, passando dalla fantascienza e dal weird, presentando nomi più classici come Ursula Le Guin e Tanith Lee ma anche più moderni come Nnedi Okorafor e Leena Krohn.
L’edizione italiana del libro è stata coordinata da Claudia Durastanti e Veronica Raimo.
