Ecco i vincitori dei British Fantasy Awards 2017

I vincitori dei British Fantasy Awards 2017 sono stati annunciati ieri durante la imageFantasyCon2017 a Peterborough, UK.

Congratulazioni a tutti i vincitori! In particolare segnaliamo il Premio come miglior Artista al nostro Daniele Serra, quello per miglior Romanzo Breve a Victor LaValle per “The Ballad of Black Tom”, di recente pubblicato in Italia da Edizioni Hypnos, e quello per miglior Romanzo Horror a Paul Tremblay.

Qui di seguito, riportiamo la lista dei premi con i rispettivi vincitori.

 

The winners of the 2017 British Fantasy Awards were announced during a ceremony FantasyCon 2017 on Sunday, October 1st in Peterborough, UK. Congratulations to all the nominees and winners!

Annunci

Il Richiamo di Lovecraft

IMG_3556Il Comune, la Biblioteca e l’Ufficio Cultura del Comune di Vaglia, il Parco Mediceo di Pratolino, con il patrocinio della Città Metropolitana, in collaborazione con Stratagemma (Firenze), l’associazione Clavisomni e la Locanda di Villa Demidoff, organizzano la terza edizione della rassegna “Il Richiamo di Lovecraft“,  un’intera giornata dedicata a Howard Phillips Lovecraft.

L’evento, a ingresso gratuito, si terrà Sabato 30 Settembre dalle ore 10 alle ore 20 presso la locanda de Il Parco Mediceo di Pratolino, e offre un programma intenso e variegato di conferenze, workshop, giochi a tema e laboratori didattici, e persino una escape room.

“Il richiamo di Lovecraft” is a full day dedicated to Howard Phillips Lovecraft, with a full program (see above for details) of panels, games, workshops and much more. The event will be held in Pratolino, Vaglia (Firenze) on Sept. 30th, from 10 am to 8 pm and the admission is free.

Conto alla rovescia per Strani Al Cubo!

Conclusasi con successo la Campagna Kickstarter per Strani Al Cubo, edizione 2017 di Stranimondi – festival di letteratura fantastica, weird e di fantascienza che si terrà a Milano il 14/15 ottobre prossimi presso UESM- Casa dei Giochi – si entra ora nella fase “countdown”!

Tra poco meno di un mese infatti gli appassionati di “letteratura strana” potranno partecipare alle conferenze e incontri con ospiti nazionali e internazionali come Valerio Evangelisti (in connessione), Pat Cadigan, Anne-Sylvie Salzman, Jan Siegel, Alda Teodorani, e l’Artista Paolo Barbieri, assistere alle presentazioni librarie delle principali Case Editrice del fantastico e del weird italiano, ammirare la mostra delle opere di Paolo Barbieri, rilassarsi tra amici chiacchierando su libri, Autori e quant’altro, e molto altro.

Chi non fosse riuscito a prenotare il proprio ingresso esclusivo attraverso la campagna Kickstarter, potrà prenotare l’ingresso per la parte a pagamento (conferenze e kaffeeklatsches, mentre l’accesso all’area espositiva e alle presentazioni librarie è completamente gratuito) a questo link, fino a qualche giorno prima dell’evento. Sarà poi ovviamente possibile richiedere il proprio pass anche in loco, alla reception di Stranimondi.

Il programma definitivo sarà pubblicato a breve: tutte le informazioni utili saranno man mano pubblicato sul sito ufficiale della manifestazione.

Segnaliamo inoltre che durante l’evento sarà presentato in anteprima un nuovo volume della Collana Modern Weird di Edizioni Hypnos dedicato completamente ai racconti di Anne-Sylvie Salzman.

The successful Kickstarter Campaign for the 2017 edition of Stranimondi, the italian festival of fantastic, weird and science fiction literature, just ended and now it is time to prepare to the event: Stranimondi 2017 will be held in Milan, October 14th and 15th, at UESM – Casa dei Giochi.

The festival will host many international and italian guests, like Valerio Evangelisti (via Skype), Pat Cadigan, Anne-Sylvie Salzman, Jan Siegel, Alda Teodorani and the italian Artist, Paolo Barbieri. The public will be able to attend panels on fantastic and weird literature, kaffeeklatsch with the guests, book launches and to meet the major italian Publishers of the field.

We are also pleased to announce, as Edizioni Hypnos, the book launch of a new volume for the Modern Weird series, fully dedicated to the works of Anne-Sylvie Salzman.

 

 

Lovecraft e il fantasy a FantArona

IMG_3293Segnaliamo questa interessante tavola rotonda, “Lovecraft e il Fantasy: che cosa ha preso e che cosa ci ha lasciato, dalle antiche mitologie a Stranger Things“, prevista all’interno della manifestazione FantArona che si terrà ad Arona, appunto, dal 16 al 17 settembre.

La tavola rotonda, condotta dallo scrittore Luca Tarenzi e alla quale parteciperà anche Andrea Vaccaro, fondatore e direttore di Edizioni Hypnos, si terrà all’Hotel Antares dalle ore 14 in poi. Edizioni Hypnos sarà presente anche nell’area espositiva con l’intero catalogo.

In programma anche presentazioni di libri e fumetti, gare di cosplay e molto altro a sfondo fantastico. Maggiori informazioni sul sito Facebook dell’evento.

Save the date: 16-17 September, at FantArona, the writer Luca Tarenzi will lead a panel discussion on “Lovecraft and the Fantasy“, with the participation of Andrea Vaccaro, founder and director of Edizioni Hypnos. The Publisher will be also present in the exhibition area with the whole catalogue.

The panel will be held in Arona, on the lake Maggiore, at the Hotel Antares, at 2p.m. of Saturday the 16th.

NecronomiCon 17 a Providence

IMG_3211È giunto quel periodo dell’anno in cui “le stelle sono giuste” e gli appassionati di H.P.Lovecraft e del weird si ritrovano a Providence, dal 17 al 20 Agosto per la diciassettesima edizione del NecronomiCon, Festival internazionale di letteratura horror e weird, arte, cinema, giochi e molto altro.

Tra gli ospiti di quest’anno segnaliamo Ellen Datlow, Peter Straub, Livia Llewellyn, Nnedi Okorafor, Mike Davis, Gemma Files, Paul Di Filippo, Michael Kelly, Scott Nicolay, Simon Strantzas, Paul Tremblay, Steve Rasnic Tem, insieme a moltissimi altri che potrete scoprire sul sito ufficiale.

The Stars are right, for all the fans of H. P. Lovecraft and weird fiction and art, who will gather in Providence from 17 to 20 August for the 17th edition of NecronomiCon, the International Festival of weird fiction, art and academia.

In fuga dalla Casa della Follia

Mary and Marsha in the Manor of Madness è il titolo del cortometraggio che vi presentiamo oggi, un divertente incontro tra il mondo di H.P.Lovecraft e le scene comiche alla Scooby-Doo.

Kris e Kurtis Theorin della Something’s Avry Production sono gli ideatori e realizzatori di questo originale video di appena tre minuti che mescola in modo molto simpatico due generi apparentemente distanti tra loro, con un mix di disegni a mano e tecniche 3D.

IMG_3161Mary and Marsha in the Manor of Madness: this is the title of the short film drawn and animated by Kris and Kurtis Theorin from Something’s Avry production, mixing the horror of a lovecraftian world with the humour of a Scooby-Doo chase.

The video is almost three- minutes long and it blends hand-drawn art with 3D techniques. 

 

 

I vincitori dei Locus Award 2017

Il premio viene assegnato annualmente sulla base dei voti online di una selezione di lettori.

Segnaliamo in particolar modo la vittoria di Ellen Datlow nella categoria Miglior Curatore, e Alyssa Wong nella categoria Miglior Romanzo breve.

The 2017 Locus Awards winners were announced yesterday during the Locus Awards Weekend in Seattle by the Locus Science Fiction Foundation.

The winners are chosen by a survey of readers in an open online poll. 

Between all the winners, we would like to point out Ellen Datlow, winner for Best Curator, and Alyssa Wong, winner for Best Novelette.

Novità WeirdMovies: racconti e fumetti

img_1744Due proposte da WeirdMovies per gli amanti del weird e del fantastico.

La prima è Weird Tales Italian Collection, un volume che racchiude i numeri della edizione italiana di Weird Tales, usciti nel 2011. Tra gli autori presenti Michael Moorcock, Tanith Lee e Ramsey Campbell. Il volume è pubblicato in edizione limitata.

La seconda proposta è invece la raccolta a fumetti OMBRE (fantasmi del tempo di guerra), con la versione a fumetti di celebri racconti, tra gli altri, di Dino Buzzati, Ambrose Bierce, Arthur Machen, Federico De Roberto. La riduzione a fumetti è affidata a Gino Carosini e a Christian Sartirana, i disegni a Gino Carosini, Marco Mastroianni e Roberto Lauciello.
