Gomoria

Disponibile un nuovo gioiello editoriale da parte di Cliquot.

Si tratta di Gomòria, “romanzo magico” del 1921 di Carlo H. De’ Medici, semisconosciuto scrittore friulano, autore di storie gotiche e di questo misconosciuto romanzo, dalle atmosfere cupe e diaboliche che pervadono classici come Frankenstein o Dracula.

Il libro contiene anche sei illustrazioni gotiche (oltre alla copertina) realizzate dallo stesso De’ Medici.

It is available from the Italian publisher Cliquot the novel Gomòria, an interesting and fascinating “magic novel” by the almost unknown Italian writer Carlo H. De’ Medici (1921).The volume shows six gothic illustrations and the cover art by De’ Medici himself.

Al via la VI edizione del Premio Hypnos

Sono aperte le iscrizioni per la partecipazione al Premio Hypnos 2019, dedicato al racconto fantastico e weird, giunto ormai alla sua sesta edizione.

Il premio, indetto da Edizioni Hypnos, è destinato a opere in lingua italiana e inedite, di massimo 60.000 caratteri. Ogni partecipante potrà presentare fino a due opere, entro il 3 febbraio, data ultima per l’invio dei racconti.

Call for Entries for the Sixth edition of Premio Hypnos, the italian award dedicated to weird literature, promoted by Edizioni Hypnos.

The award is open to short stories, in italian language, never published before: the works can be sent for entry until February 2019, 3th.

Sono stati annunciati i vincitori dei World Fantasy Awards  2018,  che si sono svolti alla World Fantasy Convention in Baltimora, insieme alla celebrazione dei 200 anni di Frankestein di Mary Shelley.

Il volume raccoglie i brevi racconti fantastici che Lafcadio Hearn scrisse nel decennio in cui soggiornò a New Orleans e pubblicati nell’antologia postuma Fantastics and Other Fancies. Il volume è arricchito dalla presenza del testo originale a fronte.

Alle radici del fantastico femminile

7CF37A4A-A75C-4C70-9CA6-E998493D1572Interessante recupero da parte della casa editrice Ramble House con il volume Knight Asrael and Other Stories, di Una Ashworth Taylor (1857-1922), che riprende la raccolta originale del 1889 in cui sono incluse quattordici storie del fantastico, legate al folclore classico. La Taylor è anche autrice di racconti decadenti quali “The Truce of God” e “The Seed of the Sun”, in cui si parla del rapporto amoroso tra una donna e una pianta.

Il volume è disponibile per il pubblico italiano su Amazon.

The Publisher Ramble House presents the volume Knight Asrael and Other Stories by Una Ashworth Taylor (1857-1922), a collection written in 1889 with fourteen short stories about fantastic, weird and folklore.  Among Taylor’s works also some decadent short stories like “The Truce of God” and “The Seed of the Sun”, in which there is the relationship between a woman and a plant.

Vastarien: rivista dedicata a Ligotti e al fantastico
