Night Terrors al teatro Menotti di Milano


Appuntamento il 13 e 14 marzo al Teatro Menotti di Milano con lo spettacolo Night Terrors, con Gerard Logan e la regia di Gareth Armstrong.

Lo spettacolo, in lingua inglese e sovratitoli italiani grazie alla collaborazione con English Theater Milan, é ispirato a tre racconti di fantasmi dello scrittore E.F. Benson, “The Dance”, “In The Tube” e “The Confession of Charles Linkworth”.

Night Terrors is a solo performance by Gerard Logan, directed by Gareth Armstrong, to be held on 13-14 March at the Menotti Theater in Milano. The script is based on three ghost stories by E.F. Benson (“The Dance”, “In The Tube” and “The Confession of Charles Linkworth”) and the performance will be in English language, with Italian surtitles, thank to the collaboration with English Theater Milan. The Ferry of Souls, di A.L. Salmon

Tartarus Press, casa editrice indipendente britannica, ormai ben nota ai nostri lettori per il suo catalogo di estrema qualità, ha annunciato di recente la pubblicazione del volume The Ferry of Souls (1927) dello scrittore Arthur Leslie Salmon. 

Questo autore, ben poco conosciuto e originario della Cornovaglia, ha scritto alcune raccolte di racconti e poesie dove il mondo della realtà si fonde con il soprannaturale e il weird, tra presenze spettrali, creature dell’orrore, e descrizioni poetiche e a tratti spirituali. 

Il volume, che presenta in copertina un’opera di Adolf Hiremy-Hirschl, contiene i racconti e le poesie di Salmon, inizialmente raccolti nell’antologia con lo stesso titolo e nel suo seguito (Waysides and Byways, 1928), ed è disponibile per l’acquisto a questo link.

Tartarus Press, an independent British publishing house, well known by our reader for its quality, announced a new volume, The Ferry of Souls (1927) by Arthur Leslie Salmon, a collection of his stories and poems, full of ghostly athmospheres, explicit horror, and poetic and spiritual talk. La stanza delle meraviglie di Guillermo del Toro

Cabinet of curiosities è il titolo della nuova serie televisiva horror a firma di Guillermo del Toro, che andrà in onda da martedì 25 ottobre a venerdì 28 ottobre 2022 su Netflix con i primi otto episodi.

La serie prevede due nuovi episodi al giorno di un’ora ciascuno e uniti da una tematica comune, che tratteranno “varie realtà al di fuori della normalità: le anomalie e le curiosità”, in un insieme di atmosfere che vanno dal magico al grottesco. Il tema della terza serata sarà dedicato a H.P.Lovecraft, con gli episodi “Pickman’s model” e “Dreams in the witch house”.


Cabinet of curiosities is the new horror tv serie by Guillermo del Toro, to be released on Netflix from 25 to 28 October 2022. The series will present eight episodes, two on each night and focused on four unique horror themes, with different atmospheres, from magical to grotesque.

I Ragni Zingari di Nicola Lombardi per Tartarus Press

Segnaliamo il volume The Gypsy Spiders and Other Tales of Italian Horror (I ragni zingari) di Nicola Lombardi, per la casa editrice Tartarus Press, con la traduzione in inglese di J. Weintraub, che ha firmato anche l’introduzione del volume.

L’antologia contiene nove racconti horror, focalizzati sul concetto di alienazione, identità e trauma, ed è stata originariamente pubblicata nel 2010, vincendo il Premio Polidori nel 2013.

Tartarus Press has published The Gipsy Spiders and Other Tales of Italian Horror, a collection by the Italian writer Nicola Lombardi with the original title I Ragni Zingari. The collection was first published in 2010 and it won in 2013 the Premio Polidori. The volume was translated in English by J. Weintraub, who wrote also the introduction.

Le Visioni di Harlan Ellison

Harlan Ellison, con le sue storie tra fantascienza, horror e weird, è stato uno dei più talentuosi e importanti autori del fantastico del secondo dopoguerra.
A partire dal 9 marzo i lettori italiani potranno riscoprire la sua opera grazie al mastodontico volume della collana Draghi Mondadori (816 pagine), Visioni. I racconti, che raccoglie la quasi totalità dei racconti di Ellison pubblicati in Italia.

Il volume, che sarà disponibile in versione sia cartacea che digitale, è arricchito da un saggio di Sandro Pergameno e da un’appendice bibliografica, a cura di Andrea Vaccaro.
