“The Secret of Ventriloquism” di Jon Padgett in arrivo in Italia

Edizioni Hypnos annuncia il prossimo volume della collana Modern Weird: si tratta di The Secret of Ventiloquism di Jon Padgett, la prima antologia (2016) dell’autore statunitense considerato il più importante erede dell’horror ligottiano, undici storie che immergono il lettore in un vorticoso labirinto di emozioni e fascinazioni. La versione italiana seguirà l’ultima edizione rivista e ampliata del 2020.

Jon Padgett, ventriloquo di professione, in campo letterario oltre all’attività di scrittore unisce quella di curatore, per la rivista Vastarien, ed è stato il fondatore nel 1997 della pagina web Thomas Ligotti Online.

Il volume sarà disponibile tra maggio e ottobre 2021.

Edizioni Hypnos announced the next volume in Modern Weird series: The Secret of Ventiloquism by Jon Padgett, the first collection (2016) of the American writer who is regarded as the most important heir of Thomas Ligottis’s horror. The Italian edition will follow the revised edition published in 2020, and will be available in the second half of this year.

Aickman inedito da Tartarus Press

È in uscita il 5 novembre per Tartarus Press Go Back At Once, romanzo inedito di Robert Aickman. Il romanzo, datato 1975, ambientato nel primo dopoguerra, narra la vicenda di due giovani donne inglesi, Cressida Hazeborough e la sua amica Vivien Poins che, terminati gli studio, si trasferiscono a Londra, dove vengono a conoscenza di un misterioso personaggio, Virgilio Vittore, poeta, autore teatrale e soldato.

Tartarus Press announced a new volume by Robert Aickman, Go back at once, to be published on November 5th. The book was completed by Robert Aickman in August 1975 and is a previously unpublished novel set in the 1920s telling the story of two young English women, Cressida Hazeborough and her friend Vivien, getting to know a mysterious character, Virgilio Vittore, clearly based on the Italian poet Gabriele D’Annunzio.

Notte d’ottobre di Roger Zelazny

Ad apertura del proprio anno editoriale, Edizioni Hypnos annuncia un 2020 pieno di novità, a partire dalla nuova collana Novecento Fantastico, in cui i lettori potranno trovare opere che hanno segnato la letteratura fantastica e weird nella seconda metà del secolo scorso. A inaugurare Novecento Fantastico sarà NOTTE D’OTTOBRE (A Night in the Lonesome October), ultimo romanzo del grande Roger Zelazny, e sua più importante incursione nella letteratura weird e nel mondo lovecraftiano. In anteprima, la copertina del romanzo a cura di Ivo Torello.

Edizioni Hypnos announced a new series, Novecento Fantastico, focused on the great weird and fantastic works of the last century. Weird scandinavo di Anders Fager

Edizioni Hypnos è fiera di portare per la prima volta al pubblico italiano l’incredibile opera di Anders Fager, autore svedese tra i più stimati del weird scandinavo.

Si parte con il primo volume di una serie di racconti di stampo lovecraftiano, Svenska Kulter, che catapultano il lettore in un mondo di horror urbano interconnesso ai miti di Cthulhu e ambientato nella Svezia dei nostri giorni. Lo stile di Fager è conciso e di sicuro impatto, con un piacevole senso di sottile umorismo che rende la lettura estremamente piacevole.

Il volume sarà disponibile nel 2019, con traduzione di Fulvio Ferrari.

Fager è un artista poliedrico e anche apprezzato autore di giochi da tavolo, di ruolo e di carte, e il suo mondo fittizio  è stato trasformato anche in una graphic novel e a breve in un film e opera teatrale.

Edizioni Hypnos is proud to announce the publishing of the first Italian edition of  Svenska Kulter by the fantastic writer Anders Fager, one of the most interesting voices of Swedish modern weird literature. 

The volume, due in 2019, will be translated by Fulvio Ferrari, and features a world of urban horror and Cthulhu’s Mythos in modern Sweden, admirably described by Fager’s  weird style with short sentences filled with impact and subtle humour.

Fager is a poliedric Artist and he created also board games, card games and role-playing games, he wrote choldren’s books and he works with tv and movie scripts.
