I finalisti dei Bram Stoker Award 2020


Sono stati annunciati i finalisti dei Bram Stoker Awards 2020. Ben due nomination per l’italiano Alessandro Manzetti, una in collaborazione con Stefano Cardoselli per la graphic novel Her Life Matters: (Or Brooklyn Frankenstein).
Tra le varie candidature segnaliamo la doppia nomination per Stephen Graham Jones (romanzo e racconto lungo), John Langan con la raccolta Children of the Fang and Other Genealogies, e Kurt Fawver con il racconto “Introduction to the Horror Story, Day 1”.I vincitori saranno proclamati durante al StokerCon che si svolgerà dal 20 al 23 maggio, in modalità virtuale.

We’ll like to highlight two nominations for both the Italian writer Alessandro Manzetti, and for Stephen Graham Jones, and also the nomination for John Langan with the collection Children of the Fang and Other Genealogies, and Kurt Fawver with the short story “Introduction to the Horror Story, Day 1”. The winners will be announced online during the StokerCon from 20 to 23 may.

Pluto in Furs

È da poco disponibile l’antologia Pluto In Furs: Tales Of Diseased Desires And Seductive Horrors, a cura di Scott Dwyer, che raccoglie quattordici storie originali horror e weird, a tema erotico.

Tra gli autori presenti dell’antologia, alcune delle firme più interessanti del weird contemporaneo come Jeffrey Thomas, Kurt Fawver, Richard Gavin, Orrin Grey, Rhys Hughes e Gemma Files.

Hypnos 9 in arrivo!

Disponibile già per il pre-order, è in uscita il 6 giugno il nuovo numero della rivista Hypnos, rivista di letteratura weird e fantastica.

Per la narrativa, restando in tema di classici, potrete trovare racconti di Aleister CrowleyEdward Lucas White e Francis Stevens, mentre tra gli autori contemporanei saranno protagonisti Kurt Fawver, con il racconto vincitore dello Shirley Jackson Award 2018, “La convessità dei nostri figli”, e Fabio Lastrucci con “I colori sbagliati”, racconto vincitore della sesta edizione del Premio Hypnos.

Completano il numero, articoli, recensioni e la prima parte della Strana Storia dell’Arte, a cura di di Ivo Torello.

La convessità della nostra gioventù di Kurt Fawver

È in arrivo prossimamente sulle pagine della rivista Hypnos il racconto “The Convexity of Our Youth”, vincitore dello Shirley Jackson Award 2017, una bizzarra storia weird da una delle voci più interessanti della nuova ondata del fantastico americano, Kurt Fawver.

Il racconto originale è incluso nell’antologia personale The Dissolution of Small Worlds, pubblicata da Lethe Press, tra le più apprezzate pubblicazioni weird del 2018.

The short story “The Convexity of Our Youth” by Kurt Fawver, one of the most interesting voices among the contemporary American authors of weird literature, will appear in Italian translation in the next issue of Hypnos Magazine. 

The original story, winner of the Shirley Jackson Award 2017, has been published published in the anthology The Dissolution of Small Worlds by Lethe Press, one of the most appreciated weird volumes of the last year.
