Sulle tracce di Arthur Machen

Tartarus Press ha pubblicato un interessante volume per tutti gli appassionati di Arthur Machen, Occult Territory, an Arthur Machen Gazetteer: il volume, di circa trecento pagine, contiene un elenco di luoghi nei quali Machen ha vissuto, mangiato, bevuto e che hanno influenzato il suo lavoro.

In edizione limitata di quattrocento copie, il volume è impreziosito da immagini e fotografie dell’epoca e citazione di Machen e di coloro che lo hanno conosciuto.

Tartarus Press published this May a special tome for Arthur Machen’ admirers, Occult Territory, an Arthur Machen Gazetteer, that lists those places in which Arthur Machen lived, worked, wrote, ate, drank and it is also a guide to sites that influenced his life and his work. The volume, in limited edition of 400 copies, is illustrated, often with contemporary photographs, and includes quotes from Machen, and thoswe that knew him.

Arthur Machen e i libri dell’occulto

Interessante nuovo progetto dalla Tartarus Press, si tratta di Arthur Machen’s Occult Catalogues, curato da R.A. Gilbert. 

Il volume riprende The Literature of Occultism and Archaeology, pubblicazione che Machen diede alle stampe nel 1885, una sorta di catalogo relativa a libri in vendita di alchimia, astrologia e scienze esoteriche, compilato sotto l’egida dell’editore George Redway. 

Il libro sarà disponibile gratuitamente in esclusiva per gli appartenenti all’associazione The Friends of Arthur Machen, e non sarà acquistabile altrimenti.

An interesting initiative by Tartarus Press: Arthur Machen’s Occult Catalogues, edited by R.A. Gilbert, based on The Literature of Occultism and Archaeology, by Machen himself (1885), a sort of catalogue of alchemy, esoterism and astrology books available at the time. 

The volume will be free but only for the members of The Friends of Arthur Machen, and not available otherwise.

Trittico dell’occulto dalla Sarob Press

Annunciata per l’aprile 2019 una nuova antologia dalla piccola casa editrice Sarob Press, Their Dark & Secret Alchemy, che includerà tre romanzi brevi, “Ten of Swords: Ruin”, di Richard Gavin, autore che i lettori di Edizioni Hypnos hanno potuto apprezzare nel romanzo breve La strana fede, “The Dead of Maridunum”, di Colin Insole, di cui è stata di recente pubblicata l’antologia Valerie and Other Stories, e “The Axis of the Lodestone”, di Damian Murphy.

Il volume sarà pubblicato in edizione limitata e numerata ed è ordinabile direttamente dal sito dell’editore.

 

 

Their Dark & Secret Alchemy is the new volume from Sarob Press, to be published next April. The volume will contain three novelettes, “Ten of Swords: Ruin”, by Richard Gavin, author already known by Italian readers for the volume La strana fede by Edizioni Hypnos, “The Dead of Maridunum” by Colin Insole, and “The Axis of the Lodestone” by Damian Murphy.

The volume will be published in limited and numbered edition and it is in preorder on the publisher’s website.

Richard Gavin, l’esoterismo e il macabro

Richard Gavin, autore contemporaneo canadese già noto agli appassionati italiani per i racconti pubblicati da Edizioni Hypnos in Hypnos 7 e nell’antologia Nuovi Incubi, ha annunciato la pubblicazione del suo prossimo lavoro, The Moribund Portal: Spectral Resonance and the Numen of the Gallows.

Il volume, edito da Three Hands Press e già disponibile per il preorder su Amazon, è un saggio sull’esoterismo e il macabro ed è previsto per la pubblicazione a Maggio 2018. La copertina è dell’artista Benjamin A. Vierling.

 

The canadian writer Richard Gavin, already known by the Italian readers for the stories published by Edizioni Hypnos in the magazine Hypnos 7 and in the anthology Nuovi Incubi, just announced his next work, The Moribund Portal: Spectral Resonance and the Numen of the Gallows.

The volume, by Three Hands Press, is an essay on the esoteric and the macabre and will be published in May 2018. The cover art is by the artist Benjamin A. Vierling. 

Swift to Chase in preorder

L’ultima antologia di racconti di Laird Barron, una delle voci più interessanti del weird moderno, sarà pubblicata in ottobre ed è attualmente in pre-order sul sito JournalStone.

Swift to Chase, questo il titolo della raccolta con introduzione di Paul Tremblay, conterrà dodici racconti incentrati sull’horror psicologico, l’occulto e l’esplorazione dell’oscurità nascosta nel profondo del cuore umano.

Le opere di questo talentuoso Autore americano sono state pubblicate in Italia per la prima volta da Edizioni Hypnos, all’interno della rivista Hypnos 2 (“L’Intimidatore”) e con l’edizione italiana del suo ultimo romanzo, La Cerimonia.

Swift to Chase, that is the title of the volume with foreword by Paul Tremblay, will contain twelve short stories, imbued with psychological horror, occult and the continous exploration of the darkness of the human heart.

Laird Barron’s works have been published in Italy for the first time by Edizioni Hypnos, in Hypnos 2 magazine (“L’Intimidatore”) and with the italian translation of his last novel, La Cerimonia (The Croning).
