Uncertainties. Volume III

Esce per la Swan River Press, Uncertainties. Volume III, raccolta di racconti a cura di Lynda E. Rucker.

Si tratta di storie inedite di autori contemporanei, un fantastico molto sottile, sulla scia degli “strange tales” di Robert Aickman, o “tales of the unexpected”, come li definiva Roald Dahl.

Tra gli autori, Joyce Carol Oates, S. P. Miskowski,  Robert Shearman e Lisa Tuttle.

Swan River Press published the anthology Uncertainties. Volume III, edited by Lynda E. Rucker.

The stories,  by contemporary writers like Joyce Carol Oates, S. P. Miskowski,  Robert Shearman and Lisa Tuttle, were unpublished until now and are in the mood of the “strange tales” by Robert Aickman, or the “tales of the unexpected”,  by Roald Dahl.

Green Thoughts and other stories

Tartarus Press presents the volume Green Thoughs and other stories, limited edition of 300 copies, an anthology of John Collier’s short stories.

John Henry Noyes Collier (1901-1980) is best remembered for his short stories, although he was also a poet, novelist and screenwriter. His style, quite peculiar, has an interesting touch of humour, irony and dark hints.

The twenty-six stories in this collection show this fantastic and horror side of his writings that influenced  writers such as Ray Bradbury and Roald Dahl. Collier’s short stories have been compared to those of Lord Dunsany, Ambrose Bierce, W. Somerset Maugham, Evelyn Waugh and James Branch Cabell amongst others.
