I Miti di Cthulhu: precursori e continuatori

Annunciato in uscita per il 30 aprile 2019 un nuovo volume della collana Mondadori I Draghi, I Miti di Cthulhu, imponente volume di 800 pagine che ripercorre la “storia” dei Miti di Cthulhu.

Il volume è dedicato a precursori, contemporanei e continuatori dei Miti di Cthulhu, e riprende l’omonima raccolta a cura di August Derleth, pubblicata oltre 40 anni or sono da Fanucci, notevolmente arricchita.

The publisher Mondadori announced the new issue, due on 30th April 2019, in the series I Draghi: it is I Miti di Cthulhu, a big volume of 800 pages focused on the “history” of Cthulhu Mythos.

The volume follows August Derleth’s anthology with the same title, published more than 40 years ago by Fanucci but now even richer, presenting different stories from different periods of time, from Edgar Allan Poe to Colin Wilson and many more.

Under the Pyramids: dal racconto al gioco

Under the Pyramids, consciuto anche come “Imprisoned with the Pharaoh”, è un racconto di H. P. Lovecraft, che ha come protagonista il celebre illusionista Henri Houdini. Commissionato dall fondatore e proprietario di Weird Tales, J. C. Henneberger, il testo racconta un’ipotetica esperienza fantastica del celebrica artista della fuga in Egitto ed è stato una delle fonti di ispirazione per il lavoro dello scrittore Robeert Bloch. La Fantasy Flight Games si è quindi ispirata a questo testo per l’ennesima espansione del gioco a tema lovecraftiano della serie di Eldritch Horror,  Under the Pyramids appunto, in uscita a brevissimo e che aggiunge sei nuovi siti, nell’Egitto del 1920, otto nuovi personaggi e altre interessanti novità.

Under the Pyramids, also known with the title “Imprisoned with the Pharaoh”, is a short story written by H.P. Lovecraft. Commissioned by Weird Tales founder and owner J. C. Henneberger, it tells a fictionalized account in the first-person perspective of an allegedly true experience of escape artist Harry Houdini.
