Nuova uscita molto interessante per la Hippocampus Press: si tratta di Providence After Dark and Other Writings, raccolta di saggi critici firmati da T.E.D. Klein, noto soprattutto come autore di narrativa, ma anche grande studioso di horror e weird, editor tra il 1981 e 1985 della rivista Twilight Zone.

Il poderoso volume di quasi 600 pagine sarà disponibile a partire dal mese di novembre.

L’ “orrore critico” di T.E.D. Klein

Thomas  Phillips presenta, per la casa editrice McFarland, il volume T.E.D. Klein and the rupture of civilization – A study in critical horror.

L’Autore esplora il concetto che definisce di “critical horror” associato al lavoro di T.E.D. Klein, uno dei più grandi scrittori contemporanei di letteratura horror e weird, come espressione di un sottogenere letterario che intrattiene facendo nel contempo riflettere sul compiacimento individuale e culturale.

Il volume sarà disponibile nell’estate 2017.

 

The Author, Thomas Phillips, explores the work of T. E.D. Klein – one of the great contemporary horror and weird writers – to explain his idea of  “critical horror,” a distinct subgenre that entertains while questioning individual and cultural complacency.

The volume, T.E.D. Klein and the rupture of civilization – A study in critical horror, will be available in Summer 2017. 

The Ceremonies

La Casa Editrice inglese PS Publishing ha annunciato la ristampa di The Ceremonies di T.E.D. Klein, in edizione limitata a 200 copie e firmata dall’Autore, con box illustrato.

The Ceremonies, originariamente pubblicata nel 1984, è stata accolta da Stephen King come il “miglior romanzo horror dopo Ghost Story di Peter Straub”.

T.E.D. Klein ha pubblicato poche opere ma tutte hanno ricevuto un’ottima accoglienza per l’abilità con cui l’Autore sa insinuare l’orrore nei mondi che contribuisce a creare. Potete leggere un esempio della sua abilità narrativa con il racconto “I Fatti di Poroth Farm”, contenuto nel primo numero della rivista “Hypnos”.

 

 

PS Publishing announced the new edition of the novel by T.E.D. Klein, The Ceremonies, in limited edition of 200 copies, signed by the Author and with  illustrated slipcase.

The Ceremonies was published in 1984 and Stephen King declared that it was the “best horror novel after Peter Straub’s Ghost Story”.

T.E.D. Klein published few works but they all have been appreciated for the inner ability of the writer to use the horror element. You can read an example of his writing skills with the story “I Fatti di Poroth Farm”, in the first number of “Hypnos Magazine”.

Cosmic Horror

Paul Di Filippo, celebre scrittore statunitense e critico, ci offre in questo articolo una visione dell’Orrore Cosmico in letteratura, con interessanti indicazioni per ancor più interessanti serate di lettura.

Il “cosmic horror” viene così definito dal suo maggiore esponente, H.P.Lovecraft:
